Signed! Ford F-150 Lightning Canceled Order

In this trending topic, a member of a Leasehackr community shares how he scored a deal on a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. The vehicle was custom ordered, but the original buyer canceled at the last minute. Despite having to pay a markup above MSRP, the new buyer still managed to purchase the truck for well below its actual value on the open market.

For those interested in how this story ends.

I owned the truck for 2 months and put roughly 1400 miles on it. Don’t have anything bad to say about the truck at all. It exceeded my expectations is every way. Having the extended range would be the only thing I would consider in future if I was keeping it long term.

Having said that this was a spontaneous buy and because I have a company car, I only put about 400-500 miles a month on personal car. Hard to justify a $900+ payment. I also felt like the car market is about to head in the other direction.

I sold the truck to GMTV for 70.5k. They brought it straight to Manheim which it sold for $69k. Ouch. Probably took a 2k loss after paying for transport from my house … It’s currently being sold by Gary Yeomans Ford for $81k list price. Yikes. All said and done I walked away with 13k and never made a payment on truck.
