Despite yet another rocky year in the car market, our community continues to thrive. We are truly impressed by the hacks brought by the collective intelligence of this community!
Notwithstanding the car shortage in 2022, we were able to not only offset the increase of car prices by cashing out on lease equity, but many also came out ahead with expertly timed flips. Our mega Wrangler 4XE thread is already on Part 4 and still alive and strong!
As leasing programs became less attractive, many of us pivoted to financing, sharing finance hacks just as epic as our lease hacks. Special thanks to @z0lt3c for educating us on balloon loans and to @HersheySweet for initiating the CU wiki! With the community’s input, we added Lease v. Financing to the calculator – one of the most effective comparison tools in the market. Who says Leasehackr is only for leasing?
Our proudest development yet is the launch of Rate Findr. Since Leasehackr’s inception eight years ago, we have strived to eliminate the information asymmetry between consumers and sellers. From manually reverse engineering public information (for those who remember our legacy RV/MF category) to now where we are able to offer official program data to consumers on demand, we have come a long way. It meant a lot to us to finally deliver this tool to our community; it meant even more that we were able to do so via crowdfunding, which enables us to carry on Leasehackr’s crowdsourcing tradition. We thank every one of you who has contributed to our Tech Support Fund!
Speaking of hackrs tools – we can’t forget the invaluable contributions from our techies! Shoutouts to @ilike2breakthngs for sharing your WaitingForTesla and WaitingForJeep trackers and @RustyDaemon for building and maintaining the car inventory search tool!
Last but not least – thank you @trusted_hackrs! You are the true heroes who made this community possible! Thank you for the countless hours you volunteered to report spammers, keep discussions on-topic, and share your valuable insights!
Please give individuals you would like to thank a shoutout since we can’t name them all!
We can’t wait to ride through another year with you all!
