SIGNED! Deal of the Month: $158K Audi RS e-tron GT Leased for $897/Month
Did Audi Financial Services make a big mistake when Leasehackr member @Chuckmk scored a deal on a used 2022 RS e-tron GT?
Despite the vehicle selling for $114,770, Audi set the 12-month lease residual value at a whopping $112,172! By Audi’s estimation, their sporty EV will hardly depreciate from its selling price – resulting in a super cheap lease payment.
However, comparable vehicles are currently selling for under $100K at auction. It’s unlikely this RS e-tron GT will be worth anywhere near Audi’s stated residual value one year from today, especially with another 10,000 miles on the clock.
Lenders sometimes inflate residual values to support leases and help dealers offload inventory. That may be the case here, but this gesture won’t be cheap for Audi Financial Services – likely costing them tens of thousands of dollars when they sell the vehicle at lease-end.
With that, our SIGNED! Deal of the Month goes to @Chuckmk for scoring this Audi RS e-tron GT at an effective cost of $897 per month. Audi has since stopped lease support on 2022 models, so the deal is not replicable.
