Labor Day Leasehacking: 2018 Mazda MX-5 Miata For $298/Month, $0 Down (CA and FL) (Expired)

Good deals on a low-volume sports car are hard to come by. Unlike with a humdrum family sedan, you'll rarely find special incentives or discounted money factor rates on a roadster, coupe, or hot hatch.

Mazda's current lease program for the soft top 2018 MX-5 Miata is an exception. Through September 4, 2018, there's $4,000 in customer incentive cash that can be applied towards leases and money factor rates that are practically zero. (The last time Mazda had rates this low on a Miata was in 2014 for the previous-generation NC car.)

Plainly, Mazda is trying to clear out 2018 Miatas before the higher-revving and marginally more powerful, but otherwise identical, 2019 models arrive. Compared to just a few months ago, leasing a MX-5 Miata under today's programs will cost roughly 25 percent less than before.

The deal featured here assumes a total dealer discount of $5,100 off MSRP on a $31,290 MX-5 Miata Grand Touring. That sounds like a huge discount, but keep in mind $4,000 of that comes directly from Mazda. Your exact selling price will depend on factors like location and inventory; we have seen discounts as high as $7,000 off MSRP. We recommend contacting a few dealers by email and asking for their best selling price. 

This deal assumes a 36-month lease. Mazda Capital Services (Chase) has set the 36-month residual value for 2018 MX-5 Miata Grand Touring at 52% of MSRP for 10,000 miles per year. (The residual value is 50% at 12,000 miles per year and 49% at 15,000 miles per year.) A 24-month lease is also available.

Mazda's current money factor for 2018 MX-5 Miata (soft top, not RF) is .00014 for a 36-month term. Targeted incentives include $500 Mazda owner loyalty bonus, $750 Mazda lessee loyalty bonus, and $500 military personnel bonus.
